Ottawa’s local kosher establishments are under the supervision of the Ottawa Vaad Hakashrut (OVH). Information about the OVH can be found on their website by clicking the link below.

The largest kosher market in Ottawa with a full selection of cholov yisroel dairy, meat, freshly baked bread, frozen foods and canned goods. There are also takeout options like fresh rotisserie chicken and a few other cooked items (OVH certified), along with deli meat and a selection of packaged soups and salads. There is also a small selection of ritual items such as yahrtzeit and havdallah candles. Outside of the kosher market, the rest of the store (this, and other locations) contain many kosher products as well.
Primarily a produce store, with locations all over the city, Farm Boy carries a number of kosher products under their house label such as dips and dressings. Farm Boy also carries a number of local kosher brands like Strawberry Blonde and HFT, as well as producing the legendary Rideau Bakery bread including rye, challah, cinnamon raisin, and more.

A small local chain. Specializing in ethnic spices and produce, Cedars also has a small kosher section that sells a number of specialty kosher items, including grape juice, Shabbas candles, couscous, cookies, crackers and also everyone’s favourite – Wacky Mac! This store also carries Montreal Kosher challahs and breads, Amsallem deli and Bothwell cheese.
Includes an aisle of kosher products, including baked goods from Montreal Kosher. The rest of the store (this, and other locations) contain many kosher products as well. This Metro location is an e-commerce location for all of Ottawa.
Located in the Soloway Jewish Community Centre, A Dashing Pinch is a social enterprise focusing on diverse employment and inclusion. Catering and curbside pickup. A vegan, gluten free, nut free, bakery with two locations (Kanata and Westboro). Offering all types of sweet treats like muffins, squares, cakes and pies, as well as savoury baked goods like scones, pot pies, and pizza buns. (OVH).

Supervised by both COR and OVH, Shillow Beer Co. was founded in 2014 by Jamie and Ben Shillow. They moved to Ottawa with their daughter in 2017 to plant roots and build the first and only certified kosher craft brewery in Canada. Opening in spring 2021, the focus for the brewery will be retail sales of a wide selection of beer styles, with a taproom planned for the future. Shillow Beer Co is located at 1458 Cyrville Rd.
If there are some favourite items that you can’t find locally, there are Montreal-based companies who deliver weekly to Ottawa, including Fooderie (a full service kosher market) and J&R Kosher (a butcher).
Ottawa is closely located to the United States border, with a very small town called Ogdensburg, NY just on the other side of that border. There is a Walmart and Price Chopper (grocery store) and some Ottawans make the 45-60 minute trip for food purchases when travel is an option, as there is a wide selection of kosher national and store brand items available.
